Otherwise, email is fine, just email directly with your questions. Many post-ops put their surgery date at the end of their emails. Guest guest
Dinah, My story actually started out like this, the administrator where I work was in a horrible auto accident about 18 months ago. As part of her rehab she swims. At the facility that she uses she met others 2 individuals that had WLS and was talking about them at lunch one day. She was telling about some conversations she had with them and how pleased they were with their progress and positive things like that. At the end I told her, if I was ever to have any surgery that was the kind of surgery I would want to have. She offered to get information for me and put them in touch. She already knows that I (and her too) have concerns about having any surgery and the being under anesthesia part especially. I told her I wasn't ready yet and would try the conventional method again. A few weeks later, I had enough of that, and had found a better alternative (MGB). The man was happy to talk to me about his experience. I also found about another person that had worked with me who had WLS. She too was a wealth of information and not offended by the phone call. I vote that you contact your mutual friend and mention that you are looking into, considering or whatever and see if she mentions the other person. If she is like the people I know she'll tell you. Bring your husband you will be glad you did. He won't be around much in the pre-op/ surgery phase, so you can do your labor LOL alone, but you will be really glad afterwards. Even doing well, as I did, I was very nice the first few hours after surgery to have someone just sitting there in case I wanted to get up etc. My husband when home about 9 pm, which was no problem for me, but I was sure glad he was there that afternoon and evening.
