Guest guest
Erratum! Several weeks ago I posted a message stating that about 175 CAWHS participants had recieved HIV testing via the Fresno County Dept. of Health at the Firebaugh site. This was incorrect and want to set the record straight. In fact what happened was participants were screened (in 1999) on the basis of risk factors with only those who were deemed at risk receiving testing (with their approval as well). I have not been able to get a hard number from the Dept of Health but they estimate the number of participants tested was approxmately 25. There were no positives. On another matter, in light of the many requests we have had for access to the CAWHS survey instruments, we have now posted them on the CIRS website under the Publications banner. They are in English and Spanish (other than the physical exam form) and in Word and PDF format. It includes the main home survey and the risk behavior questionnaire completed in the privacy of the clinics in conjunction with the physical exam. Researchers and others will also have a better chance to examine the large volume of data, much of it has not been analyzed to date.
