Hello,

My name is and I am 36 years old.

I am fairly certain that I have cea, I have noticed symptoms, on

and off for the last year. The cheek areas alongside my nose are

always red, it never dissipates. I get breakouts of pus filled pimples

on the reddened cheek areas and on my forehead. I just completed a

physical exam where my doctor told me my blood pressure is

borderlining on high, and I know that I have been suffering from

anxiety attacks on and off over the last two years. I am married, and

have two young sons that keep me busy, so stress seems to be rampant

all around me. I have also disovered that I am more sensitive to many

elements and substances more than I have ever been before. I have

also found out that cea is hereditary on my fathers side of the

family. I was happy to see that a support group exists, where I can

learn more about cea. I am already taking steps to change my

diet, eliminating foods and beverages that seem to interfere and even

irritate. Although from what I have read here, after joining the

group, it seems that the cea may end up being a permanent ordeal

that I will have to live with for the rest of my life now. I have not

seen a dermatologist yet, that will be a future goal. Or maybe even

Holistic healing of some sort.

Thank you all for listening,

Hello !!!

I hope this site is as helpful to you as it has been to me. The

input from Dr. Nase and the others is priceless, ESPECIALLY the posts

from fellow sufferers. If you haven't perused the " highlights " part

of the site yet, please do.

I was officially diagnosed 5 years ago when I was 33. I had beautiful

skin until about 24 years old, when I noticed lingering redness and

bumps on the side of my face. By the time I was 27, My face was

constantly red, swollen and bumpy. My physician diagnosed me with

adult acne, and prescribed stuff that only made my condition worse (I

had never heard of cea, and I guess he hadn't either.) After a

year of horrible skin, I suggested to him that perhaps I didn't have

acne (which is a disease of the oil glands), and asked him to suggest

a dermatologist. He told me I was too vain to accept that I had acne!

I temporarily lost my faith in doctors and stopped seeking medical

help, preferring to wallow in miserable isolation in which I

constantly scrubbed my face.

When I was 29 I saw an ad for metrogel, saw the woman's face in the

ad, and knew that was what I had. I noticed immediate improvement

when I stopped my triggers: Washing my face in HOT water (yes, I

know now it was stupid, but I thought I was cleaning my pores),

basking in hot, hot weather (thankfully I wore sunscreen) and stopped

sitting close to heaters and fires during cold weather. I basically

had to stop my love affair with heat. I had some Photoderm in South

Carolina 2 years ago, which destroyed my obvious damaged blood

vessels, and has lessened the underlying redness in my face. I will

be going to a Dr. Bitter trained physician in Virginia, if I can ever

get in touch with him. I left his office my number this morning.

Sorry to keep rambling like this but its rather cathartic to

communicate with people who have the same skin problem I have!
