Guest guest
n, She also cultured Haemophilias Influenzae, which she has had for a while, The pneumonia was something different. I might call the dr. again and write it down so I can tell you. The Rulide though has cleared the cough up completely. She has to go back on the 18/11 and then stop the Rulide and see if the cough returns if it does then IV's. Hopefully if she does need IV's it can be put off until 13/12 when the school year finishes here. " pnumonia " in sputum ; I think that Jen has a valid point; there is also another bacterium, PNEUMOCOCCUS, which can indicate infection, but not necessarily pneumonia. Here in the usa, we do get " pneumo-vac " which protects against this bug, Klesciella, and numerous other bacteria likely to cause pneumonia in the general population--but not the " bugs " that most of us with cystic fibrosis usually get. There is also a childhood vaccine available here against haemophilus influenza, a bacterium, which in the general population causes middle ear infections and on occasion, infectious hepatitis in the general population. Blah, blah, blah--I do get carried away, Love to you, and to all in your familie in Australia, n Rojas
