I can't get used to you joking. I was serious though about dogs with CF.

Thank you for your answer. You seem in a good mood. WHY????

Rosemary in New York with 3 children with CF - they are 12, 9.11, 6...I

coined the phrase " BREATHE DAMMIT " ; and now we have a dog named - are you

ready for this - TOBI after their medication!

Can/do dogs get CF? I know that animals get cancer, aids, diabetes?

Hi Rosemary,

one joke per day is enough for me, so I take this one seriously.

Animals don't get CF and that's one of the biggest problems in CF

research. We probably would be much closer to a cure if you could run

clinical studies on animals. Instead pwcf have to be their own guinea

pigs. That makes research slower and more expensive.

It is possible to create artificial CF in mice by altering the genes.

But since mice don't live for a long time anyway it's close to

impossible to watch the lung problems in mice that on the long run

cause all of the trouble in pwcf. In the digestive area studies on CF

mice are more insightful though.

Long story short, dogs don't get CF. And if your next dog has CF,

you'll become famous in many ways, LOL.

Peace

Torsten
