Guest guest
Jeff, I don't know much about micro-dermabrasion, but here's my thinking: whatever the pathophysiology of rosacea, it involves some vascular and/or immunologic process in the dermis, not epidermal sluggish cell turnover or clogged pores or other superficial abnormalities that micro-dermabrasion is useful in correcting. You're right, it does result in temporary cosmetic improvement. But many rosaceans have too sensitive skin to benefit from even simple exfoliation, much less micro-dermabrasion. And some dermatologists do not endorse stripping normal skin of its top layer unless there is some epidermal pathology, even though it makes the skin may temporarily better, because after exfoliation/dermabrasion the skin is it even more vulnerable to the sun.
