Guest guest
Hi Adam, I sent you an E-mail yesterday. I am in a similar situation as you - my treatments (V-beam) seem to be causing some side-effects. But like your technician suggested, I'm hoping it's just a temporary inflammatory response. I had some evidence of this when I went on antibiotics for the first time in seven years following a post V-beam flare. The antibiotics cleared things up within days to the point where I could actually see some improvements from the V-beam. Prior to this discovery I thought the V-beam was doing more harm than good and I was considering giving up treatments. My advice to you is to deal with post treatment inflammation rigorously. Following treatments, I avoid all flushing triggers for as long as possible (not just the few days recommended). I have turned my bedroom into an ice box so that I can cool down at night and prevent flares. Next I am going to try the topical just on the market - Elidel cream . As I indicated in my E-mail it has the anti-inflammatory properties of cortisone cream but without the side effects. If this doesn't work I may use cortisone cream temporarily (1-3 days max.). Another group member did this with success following his photoderm treatments. Hope this helps. Still wondering if you taper off Minocycline just prior to treatment or do you continue with your regular dosing schedule? C.A.M
