Kimber,

Thanks for caring. It means alot to me. I am just trying to stay balanced. I

know that I may be wearing alot of hats right now. I have a very supportive

husband and my sister who lives out of town is now starting to help out on

the weekends so that gives me a bit of a break. I am still exhausted but I

managed to take a whirlpool bath tonight and get a few things done. That

felt good ! My sister is with my brother in law tonight so we hopefully will

start a better schedule for all. It is just a pain in the butt when you have

to work full time on top of all of this misery.

Thanks for being concerned. You are just like said you were,, very

caring.

Kimber,

I glad to hear that you eye problem is healing up. Keep up the good work on it.

My PCP has increase has increase my Glucophage it one with each meal from

breakfast & Dinner only. It seems to be helping a little better. I guess it

will take a little longer too see if it will keep it under control. I hope so,

as I really don't want to have to take those nasty insulin shots, or any kind of

shots for that matter. I know I could give someone else a shot, but when I

comes to sticking myself, I a real chicken.

Take Care,

Louie in WV to Louie

Louie,

the eye is healing slowly. I'm still taking eye drops for it

every 2 hours and only when I'm awake. They have an ointment

for me to put on it at night. The vision is still a little

fuzzy and foggy in that eye. I'm hoping it will come back

when it fully heals. The doctor says I came really close to

losing or severly damaging the sight in that eye. If I had

waited one more day....

Initially, they had me taking drops every hour, 24 hours a

day. Nasty to have to wake up every hour when you are trying

to sleep. Now I'm finally catching up on my sleep.

Hope all is going well with you. Hope your diabetes issue

is clearing up?

Thanks Kimber,

I will go to the Hopkins site and print that out. I have

printed it out before but don't know what I did with it. I will be

talking to Dr. Cotton myself cuz I am not sure what this new doc will

actually tell him. Thanks for the good advice, I needed to be

reminded to talk to Dr. Cotton and about the Hopkins site. talk

to ya soon,

Louie,

well, the ulcer scar didn't affect my vision, but something

else did. They think an old injury has left something

blocking my vision in my left eye, but I don't think I had

any other injuries to that eye, so something is blocking the

vision. It isn't the ulcer, because it wasn't in my line of

vision evidently, but something is. My optometrist is going

to consult with my opthamologist to see if they can pin down

what is affecting the vision in the left eye. I may end up

having to go to the opthamologist again so he can look at

it. As it is, the optomestrist can't bring the vision up in

that eye. What worries me is that both my great grandmother

and my grandmother has tumors in their eyes.My great

grandmother died because it had spread, but my grandmother

just lost the eye, though they did tell her if they had

caught it earlier, they could have saved the eye. So,

needless to say, I'm worried that it's the beginning of a

tumor. I'm hoping it's not and that it's something that is

fixable. They do know it is not the retina, so that is okay,

but it may be something in the cornea. The doctor is

supposed to call me during the week, so I should have some

idea then.

Hi Kimber,

I certainly hope it nothing permanent with your eye and the new doc do something

to fix the problem. I will certainly keep you in my prayers that everything

turns out ok for you. Are you a diabetic from your CP, yet? I know when you

are a diabetic, sometimes it can affect the eye, so once a year I now see a

diabetic eye specialist, so if any problems are starting, hopefully we will

caught the in the early stages. I hope this isn't your case. I can certainly

see why you are worried, since your grandmothers had so much problems with their

eyes. Keep me posted. If there is anything I could do let me know.

Louie,

yes I am diabetic and I get my eyes checked once a year. I

do have retinopathy, but the problem I'm currently having

isn't connected to that, the doctors checked to make sure

about that. This is something new that they feel isn't

related to my diabetes. Right now it's just wait and see.

If the doctor doesn't call me by tomorrow I will call him to

find out what he found out from my opthamologist.

Grrr day for me

Hey all,

I'm just writing because I'm having a bad pain day. I was

supposed to work at home today and ended up calling it in as

a sick day because of the pain. I knew I wouldn't be able to

work with the data I dealing with at work without messing it

up due to the pain meds. Grrr.

if I take more than 1/4 a pill, it makes me feel like a zombie

I have a friend who takes it and she has to take 3 pills to put her

to sleep, the exact opposite of me.

Kimber

Kimber,

You have brought up a very important fact in your message that

we all need to remember. When we are discussing the

dosages of any medicine here on the message board.......what

works for one person MAY HAVE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT

EFFECT on another. It reminds me that each of us has to be

aware of this, and no one should assume that just because 10

mg's of XXXX is suitable for one, it may be overwhelming for

another.

Just remember this folks, and let your doctor's and your

awareness of your self be the judge of correct dosaging. Each of

us has a different body chemistry, and the meds may effect each

of us in different ways.

With hope and prayers,
