Guest guest
, I just had another thought. You need to eat something with protein after you have managed to bring it up or it will just drop back down again. A good thing to eat after low blood sugar is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (using reduced fat peanut butter). Use a multigrain bread if possible. Orange juice is good to bring the sugar up, but it doesn't have any protein to keep it steady once you bloodsugar rises. The PB & J has all the things you need after a reaction. Quick carbs from the jelly, protein in the peanut butter and if you use a multigrain bread, complex carbos to help your bloodsugar from dropping again. And if you have a glass of skim milk, you have more protein to steady out the bloodsugar. This is 21 years of experience as a diabetic talking here. Hope this is of some help.
