" That's what science and research is all about: asking questions, getting answers, asking more questions, then getting more answers then coming to conclusions based on those answers. If anything, I am rather impressed by the treatment of Mike's claims because it clearly shows that we have a group of critical thinking people on this group like Dr. Marjory and double- oh who are actually actively curious about the affects and ingredients of Gold Bond. I really don't think anyone is showing or has shown ill-will towards Mike based on his suggestion of using Gold Bond -- on the contrary many of us are thankful to him. Naturally, I am also happy that he has found something that has helped his condition and that he can finally lead a more normal life. But I think Mike kind of over- reacts and becomes defensive when some people show a bit of skepticism based on Gold Bond's ingredients (it contains menthol, which has been known to irritate rosacea skin, and petrolatum, which is widely thought to be comedogenic). Mike is somewhat " thin- skinned " (excuse the pun) and it _seems_ like we are jumping down is throat. But we're really not, we are just very cautious, curious, and might I say -- excited? Ann, you know as well as I that our condition is not akin to a boil on the buttocks, where we can just apply different topicals willy- nilly, cross our fingers and hope it works. It's on the sensitive skin of our faces out where everyone can see and I don't know about you, but I have been " burned " (literally) more than once after haphazardly putting something on my face that was a tad too disagreeable. So after ruining my face a few times, I now tend to show a great degree of caution and curiousity. Plus with a product like Gold Bond which contains somewhat precarious ingredients, I sprinkle in a dose of skepticism about how effective it will be for me, because like I've said: I've been burned before. You said it yourself Ann, we are all different and what may be a miracle for one person, might be a curse for others, so many of us have learned (the hard way) that we need to research and be wary about the things we put on our faces. With all that said, I gotta say, after reading the successes of some of the people on this group, I am considering trying it out on a test area to see what happens. I hope it turns out ok > It has become ridiculous the way people are behaving in this group. > Why can't someone just post with what has helped them without getting > the third degree? Guest guest
I am in total agreement that people should be able to state what has helped them without being attacked. For example, Accutane has undergone many " attacks " , but it is the best treatment that I have undergone so far! I have talked to others on here too that it has helped immensely. It may work for some and not for others. We are all different...just like many other remedies that have been tried. I LOVE to hear ALL ideas about what has worked for people!!! Keep them coming in--no matter what some may say. We are ALL still looking for a cure and for some relief; otherwise, we wouldn't be on here! Speaking of Accutane---quick question---what is the difference between Roaccutane and Accutane? I have seen both names on here, and I was wondering if they are the same product. Thanks...to everyone!!!!

So much I have gotten from this group in the last 3 years or so has worked for me that I am usually " clear " these days. Not everything mentioned that I tried was appropriate for my use, but that was OK - I was happy to have input and at least some measure of control over my situation. Mostly, I was happy that someone was giving me hope. That is what this group gave me that made the biggest difference in my life. So, I thank everybody for their help and ideas over the years, too. Thanks...to everyone!!!! , the active ingredient is the same -- isotretinoin, but the inactive ingredients (vehicles) and other features typically differ from product to product. Roaccutane is one of many formulations distributed and used in other countries, but not from what I know here in the US.
