Guest guest
Kathy, After every ERCP I have had I have had pretty bad attacks. Everyone is different. I hope you will not have an attack and that the sphincterotomy works for you. I've had 4 this past year. It really isn't any worse than a regular ERCP and my attacks after stent placement weren't as bad. I was still hospitilized, but it really was better. Are they plannning on keeping you for observation to make sure you don't have an attack? That is what they do with me know and it is great. I don't have to wait for meds they already have orders to give them to me. Jenise Mansfield, OH

Guest guest
Hello everyone! On Thursday I am scheduled to have a Sphincterotomy out of Beth Israel Hospital in New York. I am scared to death. Is there anyone that can let me know of their experience with this. I had an ERCP four years ago and had a severe pancreatitis attack. Brought my enzymes over 42,000. I am so scared of this happening again. They tell me that because they will be putting in a stent the chances are slim of complications, but I always seem to be that slim case. Thanks, Kathy
Guest guest
I had an attack which kept me in the hospital for about 5 days following my sphincterotomy. It was bad news. I was so doped-up, I hardly remember what happened. In fact, every ERCP has caused this problem - severe pancreatitis atacks. However, it's better to go through with it and get that Sphinter of Oddi fixed, rather than delay the procedure. Jerry/NC
