Hi ;

sorry to hear that you're feeling so punk! Has your PCP ever

mentioned Diabetis to you before? It sounds to me like the Dr needs

to draw blood for an A1C hemoglobin test. It gives a 3 mo average of

your BS.If that comes back pos. for elevated BS then the Dr can get

you started on an A.D.A diet (amer. Diabetic Assoc.), have you begin

diabetic classes that will be VERY informative , and then the Dr will

possibly start you on some type medication to help get your BS down-

whether it be pills or injections.

I think that's the best and safest route to take. Diabetis can be a

very tricky thing if you aren't sure what you're doing. Too high of

BS can put you into coma and too low BS can send you into shock,

seizures and both types could cause death.

I don't mean to scare you, but this is a serious matter and needs to

be dealt with by a professional.

If and when you're dx then the Dr can tell you about all of the

glucometers on the market and which one he feels would suit you the

best.

I have the " Dex " made by Bayer, and the " One touch elite " (don't know

manufacturer) which I like better because it only takes 5 sec for a

reading.

If you are Diabetic (which I hope you're not), in time you will know

whether you're BS is high or low just by how you're feeling. I get

very, very sleepy and have to pee when mine is high, and become

shakey, confused and unsteady when it is low.

My BS is doing real well now. My PCP has me on Lantis insulin at

bedtime and Humolog insulin before eating.I check my BS approx. 4x a

day on the average.

Please see your Dr soon ! If it is Diabetis, you'll want to get the

ball rolling right away.

Please feel free to e-mail me anytime if you'd like. I " m concerned!

Take care !

God's Blessings to you & the Group!

Cyndie
