I think carrots are less starchy then peas, at least for me so I would try

those, what about egg yolk? green beans pureed? asperagus?

Is starch not a good thing?

I'm afraid of eggs just yet - (even the yolk.) And asparagus is

very high in salicylates so I ruled those out. Gee . . . this is

tough!

I would choose carrots over peas, but carrots have a higher

potential for allergy than some other veggies. Asparagus and beets

are low-allergen but have a lotof oxalic acid and asparagus can be

fibrous, so I would not give her a lot. Cook it well.

I would avoid peas and beans and other legumes as they tend to be

more allergenic. My son always had difficulty digesting zucchini

when he was young, I don't know why. It may have been the seeds,

which are difficult to completely remove.

Butternut squash is an excellent early food for babies.

Pureed lamb is also a good early choice, very low allergen and easy

to digest, lots of iron that she'll be needing in a little while.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I did try butternut squash but

somehow remember her not tolerating that well (though this was a

while back and either before SCD or just as we started so it's hard

to tell . . .)

RE: the zucchini. I know, isn't it strange that she does okay with

that?

I may try some lamb . . .going to the grocery store now.

What about ripe avocado? I used to mix it half and half with ripe banana

when my kids were babies. It's a great nutrient packed food. I don't

know if they are high in salicyclates though.

I was told by our GI specialist here in Colorado Springs , Colorado, that IgE,

IgG or IgA testing is not accurate under the age of five...so beware of false

negatives! Listen to what your baby is trying to tell you. Introduce foods

slow and one a week at the most....then you will know if there is a problem...it

takes patience, but is worth the time!

When you do try meat, be sure and use range fed/ organic/ no antibiotics, or

hormones .... it could make all the difference.
