Spectrum margarine and coconut oil (Walmart carries a cheap brand,

different in quality than you might find at Whole Foods but legal, it

works, and has a very mild taste) are good substitutes. And let's not

forget butter - but check the label carefully (not sure for what offhand,

but legal butter's easy to find).

P.S. Some recipes will come out fine if you substitute oil for marg. too.

Thanks so much for replying to my post. We are going to implement the SCD,

dairy-free shortly so I will not be using butter.

Hi Kim,

You are correct, margarine is SCD illegal. The Fleishman's lactose

free is because it contains Soybean oil and artificial flavours.

Some substitues are coconut oil/butter, oil (olive, corn, sunflower

etc) butter.
