Guest guest
I have Sjogren's Syndrome, which is sort of like a combination of dry eyes, dry mouth with Lupus. Because of that, my doctors never know if my eye and face redness is due to the Sjogren's Syndrome, or the cea. So they continue to experiment with different treatments. Don't despair! I got sick when I was age 28 and am age 39 now. I refuse to let it alter my life to the point that I can't enjoy life anymore! I figure I can do most things in pain, or sit home in pain. Same would go for redness of eyes and face. Get out there and enjoy life or your trial will have the victory over you! That is why some are victims and some are victors. We all make the choice which we decide to be! But the key thing is to keep hounding the doctors and do your own research and see what might help out. If you want to write me off list, I'll let you know what are some things they MIGHT try that won't make you so sun sensitive. And have they ever tested you for Sjogren's Syndrome? Sometimes the labwork is inconclusive, so they have to do a salivary gland biopsy. But it is worth it to KNOW what is going on. And lots of folks with SjS have rosacea too, so sometimes it isn't a matter of just getting ONE dx, but a package of diagnosis and treatment options. Best wishes! Kathy W. Guest guest
I'm a new member.I came across this site whilst looking for some information on rosacea.I have not had it diagnosed as such.Doctors just seem to be a revolving door.I have reached the point where I am dispairing. My life has become reduced to surviving.I am so self conscious about my appearance that I only go out when I have to.Social life. What social life.My eyes have been chronically red for 24 years.I have seen so many eye doctors I have lost count. My skin redness is getting worst. It is extrenely sensitive to the sun.Even a warm shower leaves blotches all over my face.I have had all sorts of diagnosis for my eyes.Nothing has ever brought relief not even streroids. An eye doctor in the late 1980's suggested I try Doxycycline as he did mention rosacea. But I experienced extreme photosensitivity on it.So it was discontinued.I am so down.Feel that there is no hope.I hope someone has some suggestions.I would surely appreciate that.Bye
