Guest guest
Our 6 yr old is not tiny and petite but she is not fat either. She is tall for her age and any time she is weighed she is good for her height. The problem is her picture is in the dictionary by the words 'picky eater' She eats hamberger, cheese, eggs, applesauce, gingerbread, chicken. She will sometimes eat a knew dish and act like she really likes it but will not even taste of it again such as the pizza. She has always been very constipated. I have been giving her juice mixed approximately 1 cup prune juice, 3 cups grape juice, 4 cups water. She get about 6 oz. 3 to 4 times a day and this has seemed to help her constipation. She has a bm now almost every day. Nothing massive and is still pretty big and firm but at least she isn't going 4-6 days with out a movement. The problem is she has lost 10# since we have started this diet 6 1/2 wks ago. I don't know what to do if she continues to loose weight. She get 3 meals plus at least 3 snacks every day but eats such a little bit most of the time. She has always been this way but before SCD we always had her mainstay, pasta. Any advice? Sandy M. Whole family SCD 6 1/2 wks.
Guest guest
Thanks for replying Jody. Yes I am making the SCD gingerbread. At this time we don't have anything in our home that isn't SCD legal. No she won't drink smoothies. It took quite awhile before she would drink the dilluted grape juice. After she finally accepted the fact that this is what grape juice is going to be I started adding the prune juice just a little, like maybe a couple of table spoons in the 2 quarts, at a time. It took quite awhile before she would drink her small glass of that. Then I started increasing it and we are where we are now. Knowing her, I don't think she would even taste of a smoothy. I might try a yoghurt one though as she used to like commercial yogart cups as long as they were smooth.
