Can someone explain to me a little more about Sulfur? I use Plexion on

my forehead and on the area around my mouth. I am convinced that it is

doing alot of good on my forehead, which looks clearer than it has in close

to a year.. I still have lots of little red marks from left-over acne, but I

can run my finger across my forehead and I only feel one pimple.. as opposed

to several dozen that i woulda felt two months ago. I'm not sure that I'm

having equally as much progress with it everywhere else though. When I

first get outta the shower in the morning, my upper lip (the seb

derm/follicular acne area) looks great..maybe better than ever.. But over

the course of the day it gets worse and worse.. so that for the second half

of the day, and when I first wake up in the morning before my shower, it

looks really really bad... worse than ever.. it seems like the sulfur helps

the seb derm, but then causes it to be more succeptible to being worsened by

other things? Is this what is meant by Sulfur being a submersive

comedogenic? I can't tell if I should keep using the Plexion.. I know it

makes my cheeks flush more, even tho I don't use it on my cheeks (it seems

to cause my skin everywhere to get alot drier, especially the inside of my

nose) Anywayz, I'm not quite sure what to do, and don't know enough to make

an informed decision

Plexion is not as bad as what I was doing. Plexion is not leave on,

its a wash, so the effects no doubt are less comedogenic.

I was using the sulfacet-r without the sulfacetamide. Bid. Then I

was throwing some sulfoxyl in there. It was great. The inflammation

was down. Then I decided to stop all sulfur products due to their

known comedogenicity.

Next time I decide to stop all sulfur products, hopefully there won't

be a next time, because I won't start them again, I'd make sure I was

on zithromax and then slowly wean off similar to the procedure for

weaning off topical corticosteroids. Let's just say I am paying the

price for all the great sulfur anti-inflammatory action by seeing

myrads of papular pustular eruptions due mainly to the comedones

induced by the long term sulfur use -- also being on low dose

accutane, comedones are sort of expressed to the surface -- kind of

like all the microcomedones are on deck and suddenly they run out on

the field and hit home runs...

It's two weeks into my sulfur free existance, so hopefully the worst

is over. But it is a pain to shave. Cutting every time. I was very

worried about scarring so that's why I added, recently, the zithromax

to try to put a dent in the inflammation. I was, however, very clear

with the 10 mg accutane + sulfoxyl hs, washing my face only once a

day.. Like I said, hindsight is 20/20, and two weeks ago, when I got

the idea to junk the sulfur products, I would have tapered. But, I'm

impatient...

Maybe this should have been printed in the package inserts... Maybe

I can sue :) !!!
