Guest guest
Hi Deb, Slice thin, lay in a single layer, with space so air can circulate. A low oven 150°-180°F. If you can leave the door open a crack, a fan outside the oven will also help air circulate remove moisture etc. and speed up the process. Guest guest
How thin do you slice them? Plus, what do you lay them on? If you put them on a cookie sheet, don't they stick?? Thanks. Guest guest
Hi Amber, > How thin do you slice them? It depends on what the fruit is. The thinner you slice the quicker it dehydrates and the " crunchier " it will be. At least 1/4 " for most I believe is the norm. You can use google.com to find the width on specific fruits for dehydrating. > Plus, what do you lay them on? If you put them on a cookie sheet, don't they stick?? I used parchment paper on a cookie sheet(that was a few years ago - I now have a dehydrator) > Amber. mom to (ADD) (asd) SCD begginner > Since you are just starting it is very likely to soon for dried fruit if the person doing the diet is still symtomatic - it'll feed the microbes you want to starve out if you can't digest them yet.
