when can we try almond milk?

Hi, I'm confused about various things I've read about almond milk. I

got the impression when I read the book (but of course, now I can't

find the place where I think I read it), that one should wait awhile

(longer than one waits for introducing nut flours, for example) to try

making almond milk, but then a link I followed to pecanbread with a

chart of early/late foods in various categories suggested almond milk

fairly early. The factors I can imagine mattering would include how

finely nuts are ground and whether they are cooked, so I could see

almond milk going either way.

My kids are begging for fluid milk.

This is what Elaine wrote about using nut milk early in the diet.

From http://lyris.dundee.net/read/messages?id=256187#256187

" If I make almond milk from blanched almond flour, do I need to wait

six

months into the diet to introduce it?

(Elaine) No, as long as you strain it, you can introduce it much

sooner. Since my

experience with this at the beginning of the diet is practically

nil, it

will depend on the state of your child's gut. Is he/she having gas,

diarrhea, constipation, etc. Keep a chart and experiment "

Also see http://lyris.dundee.net/read/messages?id=252992#252992

So how are their bm's? Diarrhea, constipation any gas? Are you

also using other nut flours? Are you using almond flour?
