Guest guest
My experience is that they have no clue. The doctor that I trust the most here says it is autoimune. I think there is more to it than that. Stress may play a much bigger part than we can imagine and that would hurt the inmune sys. But, my guess is good as any. What I do know, is that we are in very big trouble. Autoimmune? Hi everyone, I've been lurking and reading of and on for a while now. I was diagnosed with rosacea a few years ago (had it longer than that - in denial.) Went to my doc for knee problems and she wanted to do some bloodtests to rule out Lupus and arthritis (I've tested negative before) because she said there was obviously some autoimmune problems because I have rosacea. Some how that didn't really compute for me. Is rosacea caused by the autoimmune system or something else or do they have no clue??? Thanks for any enlightenment you can shed! Jane, although the vast majority of people with rosacea have clinically normal immune systems, there is a clear association between some autoimmune and connective tissue disorders, and rosacea. Whatever the association or etiology of rosacea, like the vast majority of chronic conditions, there's nothing to really do about it, beyond insure general good health and skin care, and good rosacea care.
