Flax Seed/Oil

Hi,

I found an interesting article regarding the use of flax seed/oil for

those people who have a strong family history of breast cancer. (Men

can get this disease too.) For those of us who do (or are taking

tamoxifen or have had malignant breast tumors in the past), should

exercise caution. I have an immediate relative who had breast cancer

twice, once before menopause, so you could see why I'm extremely

cautious about phytoestrogens. I have to see an oncologist once a

year to get checked out thoroughly.

For those that don't fit in any of those categories, then flax is

great for protection against estrogen-related tumors and, of course,

rosacea.

If you do fit one of warned categories above there are other ways to

get your Essential Fatty Acids(EFAs) so you can take care of your

rosacea. You can eat fatty fish like salmon, tuna or mackerel a few

times a week or take supplements that contain fish oil. As well, you

can use extra virgin olive oil as your source of fat. It has lots of

antioxidants too. (I eat three tablespoons a day of olive oil.)

Anyway, here's the article:

Take care!
