I'm new to the group.... To: rosacea-support-owner Keila, I urge you to read the thread on Cutanix Dramatic Relief Lotion. The debate got heated at times, but I think you might want to try a sample and see if it is effective in treating your symptoms. If you are interested we can send you out a sample so you will have it for your cruise. Also, you may want to download the file concerning the Cutanix DRL clinical study (Its in the files section of this forum). Send me your shipping address if you're interested (bpilcher@...) Guest guest
Keila, I'm an emergency physician who joined this group because I have rosacea. I participate like other members, and I also contribute by answering medical-type questions. My strong recommendation is for you to first secure a diagnosis with your internist, family physician, or a referring dermatologist. A Web site can awaken you to a possibility, but you really can't clinch a diagnosis that way. I know that you may be hoping to avoid prescriptions and possibly a doctor's visit, but you may have something else going on, or if you do have rosacea, there are complications that might be avoided or delayed with proper care. If you do have rosacea, the most important thing is *not* to jump and buy a new product. First, educate yourself about rosacea and its triggers and see if any apply to you, so you can avoid them. Second, many here have found it helpful to re-evaluate their skin care and make-up products for hidden irritants that may be contributing to the redness. As many here can testify, those two things alone may make a real difference in your complexion. You may already be aware that an excellent sunblock, applied often, and probably a wide-brimmed hat, are going to be important, especially for your cruise. Reddened skin, whether from flushing or inflammation, needs to be protected from the sun. If you do have rosacea, I don't know that antibiotics (the traditional first-line treatment for rosacea, through a complicated non-microbial mechanism of action) would help you, though they are certainly worth a try. Some members have found Dr. Sy's OTC anti- blush regimine helpful, and other members have found various prescription pills helpful. So in addition to practical advice you can pick up here, there are things your doctor can do to help you, should you have rosacea. I would strongly urge you to treat yourself right by first getting a proper diagnosis and getting started on the right regimine, not throwing something new on your face or popping a pill. Thanks for making this public, . Sunshine really is the best disinfectant. In my opinion, new posters asking for the group's help should get straight, honest answers from unbiased members. , however pure your motivation in recommending your product to Keila, I hope you reflect on how inappropriate, and arguably unethical, it is to recommend your product to someone who doesn't even have a diagnosis. Guest guest
> I simply offered a sample of a product that may help with skin > inflammation. , that's exactly the point: you don't know whether her skin is inflammed. None of us know. Keila herself doesn't know. If she has rosacea it could be purely vascular, without any inflammatory component. I know you're aware of that classification because I believe it's the first one listed in the NRS paper -- indeed, yesterday you said you agreed with Dr. Kligman regarding a research bias favoring the inflammatory (papules and pustules) component of rosacea despite not being present in all patients. Maybe Keila is one of those patients you talked about? Or Keila may not even have rosacea. Or she may have pre-rosacea as she suspects, which by definition occurs on normal skin. Marketing your product by distributing free samples is bound to be a real crowd-pleaser here . But it's hard to believe you are being honest and straightforward otherwise, based on the poor quality of your posted studies, on how you repeatedly avoid answering the hard questions posed by myself and others, and now on your promotional stance to a newcomer. It's a shame. You seem like a nice guy, , and your product may well posess some anti-inflammatory activity. Guest guest
I have a few questions here. I apologize if the answer is already out there and I just missed it: What is the " this " that was made public? Who is " " ? I could find no in this thread, except the group founder, who, as far as I can tell, merely passed the post along to the group. What else would anyone expect him to do? Did ** say " Sunshine...is the best disinfectant " ?, and if so, what does that mean? What is it that's being disinfected? I've read past posts about the effects of sun as regards rosecea, but if I'm reading this thread correctly, *avoiding* the sun is what's being recommended, isn't that right? There seems to be a part of the post missing, because as it is it doesn't make any sense to me. Thanks for your help! Jan > Thanks for making this public, . Sunshine really is the best > disinfectant.

Guest guest
Hi Jan, Yes, things can be taken out of context when you get just a snippet of a message or even skip through some of the messages. That is the group founder and that is what the quote is referring to. Yes, he did pass the post along to the group. The sunshine making the best disinfectant, is not referring to clearing up rosacea, as you can guess. Dr. Marjorie was discussing the unknown outcome of using Cutanix since she thought the tests that the company performed weren't that thorough. As soon as people start using the product, then we'll know if it lives up to its claims. That's basically what that thread was about. I'm summarizing this for you because there was a bit of a controversy surrounding this discussion. Someone from the group, , is testing this product right now, so we should be getting his opinion on it. Also, I signed up for a free sample and should be getting it shortly. I'll post my experiences too. I know that it's difficult to keep up with all the messages. It is useful to go to the website of our group and look up past threads if something doesn't make sense. With so many people getting the messages sent directly to their mailboxes or getting a digest version delivered there, getting bits and pieces of messages can occur. Hope that helps!
