Guest guest
In 1991, I was attacked at work in Eastern Oregon by a now retired third-in-command, during a time when the first two were in Salem. My colleage, a short male, was also attacked. This happened as we were conducting a therapeutic group for women who had been abused, ei ther in childhood, or as adults. or both. Our concern foremost was for them. My colleague was most damaged emotionally, I most damaged physically. My shoulders, were very sore and I did not know what this meant until I lost the use of my hands and my arms. Ten years later, after ten years of physical therapy at a fine institution, I began slowly to recover. I can use (though badly) a computer. I cannot dial a telephone and fortunately my telephone company does it for me if I press " 0. " I use my cell phone by using a pencil eraser and they conncect the num ber for me. I have lost the ability to play 12 of 13 instruments and can no longer use a typewriter, though I can play the piano, surprisingly well. Anyway, this is why my typing is so awful. I used to type 120 wpm w/o errors--no more. The condition is called Reflex Sympathetic (nerve) Dy strophy and few ever recover from it. My rheumatologist and neurolog ist feel that I have been a great success. I feel that I have been some thing of a " klutz, " but am grateful for the progress that I have made. I re-read posts that I have actually sent out and giggle--can't believe that that work is mine. I love getting to know all of you, and many on other lists as well, including one on astronomy. But these are my favorites, and I am grateful for being able to read what you say. I do not use voice software as it is to inaccurate for the complex scientific words we use. What is sad for me is that I have done psychotherapy with the deaf and hearing-impaired and can no longer make readable sign forms now, but I do keep up on the sign lists where we cheerfully describe our emo tions by adding adverbs and adjectives such as " Hi! " (smile), or " My son fell last week. " (hard), etc. I want to thank you for putting up with me and my typing as I enjoy each and every one of you. Thank you for making this old person with cf very happy. I start oxygen at night tomorrow (Condensor), with portable as needed. The thought of carrying a backpack of meds AND portable oxygen is daunting, I admit, but the opposite is more so. All of you enjoy your time with your families and those close to you, as I will with mine, even though I do not celebrate christmas as such. I love you all, your children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and grandchildren--much as I do my own children, etc. Let us all enjoy what we can--even if in hospital--while we can, n Rojas, wcf, who has a big family and many friends to feed her up, regardless, on the 25th! Guest guest
n, Whether the prison systems are overcrowded or not---I sure do hope they caught that guy and gave him a long, long time behind bars! I think if some of us on the lists could get our hands on him he would stay behind bars. Over the years you have been such a compassionate person. I sometimes think that others are jealous of us overachievers. The guy should be required to be your slave and have to do all the stuff you used to do. And, of course, he should be reminded every day of the struggles and sacrifices you have had to make. Glad you have been a strong enough person to overcome some pretty discouraging stuff. Good For You! Love ya, Aunt B
