I suffer from headaches and migraines and used to take four to six tablets of Motrin a week. Since I was diagnosed with rosacea this past December I only take the Motrin when absolutely necessary. I don't know if I had a rosacea like dermatitis but I did have several red streaks on both sides of my face. It took several weeks for the red lines to diminish. Now they are pale lines but not as pronounced as they were in December. At that time I noticed a tiny blood red dot on my lip and others on my torso. I called my first Derm and asked him what they were. He said they were skin hemorrhages and that a person could get them from taking too much aspirin and that they would go away on their own. They haven't. I have some on my legs now. I'm sort of assuming here that ibuprofen and aspirin have some similar properties. In reading some older posts I came across #28249. I think these red dots are called " petechiae " . The post has a list of additional causes of these blood red dots. I apologize for digressing a bit here but I wanted to take this opportunity to discuss ibuprofen and to find out if there are other rosaceans who also have these red dots on their body. If so, did they go away? Do you think you got them from too much ibuprofen? From something else? How does a person get rid of these things? Aspartame. I don't usually drink a lot of soft drinks. When I do have a diet soda I do not notice any rashes or negative changes to my rosacea.
