I don't know where you live but in the US there are programs to help kids with medical expenses. The program we got in does not go by our income it goes by our kids which at 10 and 8 there is none. So asked your social worker at the hospital our call you local state health department to see if their are any programs that you would qualify for. Never give up because some time you just have to keep asking until you talk to the right person. Hope this helps. Deb A
Guest guest
Hi Margaret. I know alot of people have been in or are in the same boat with you. I haven't worked in eight years and we have only had my husbands income. We just had a house built and our car decided it needed to be sick. If only they made health insurance for cars. I am definitely not in the boat with you, but we make too much with just one income, my hubby is a police officer and makes 3066 monthly after all the junk they take out he brings home 2400-2500 a month, to qualify for squat. But this is all we have ever known and it would be almost detrimental for me to get a job right now. What with more taxes and how in the world do you explain to your employer that you need to be as flexible as a rubber band? My husband is also on the SWAT team, he has a drug dog, he does overtime as a guard at the local airport. And on top of just him, our son. He thankfully hasn't been sick recently, but he has been. On top of this, my hubby gets an increase in pay this month, but the insurance, which is an HMO, has decided to raise their rates. We thought they would be wonderful, but they are turning into a nightmare. Get approval for this and get approval for that, we might cover this but probbaly not. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Anyway, off the soap box. I hope everyone had a safe, fun, and quiet Christmas and New Year. As I promised I will now tell you my best Christmas I remember when I was just eight, flying from England to Oregon to see my grandparents. I never was really close to them, being a military family. But I remember that Christmas and walking on the sand dunes with my grandfather and just learning all I could from him. He and I would just walk, never really talked then, but just enjoyed the company of eachother. In 2001 my grandmother passed away just after mother's day and my grandfather passed away this past year. Almost a full year after my grandmother. Even though I didn't know them as well as I would have liked, I remember the phone calls every year and the small gifts they would send. I wish my husband and kids would have met them. My grandfather and husband would have gotten along great. This Christmas was ok, other than the fact that the car decided to leak antifreeze starting christmas eve. Then my husbands cop car had a flat tire on christmas day. How much luckier can we get. By The Way, Margaret, my son also has n1303K. The other mutation is unidentified as of two years ago.
