Everyone I have seen both on the cea group, and people w/out cea on

the Seb Derm group, have said Protopic causes them a substantial amount of

pain. I would bet money that the pain is being caused by the Protopic.

Also, just so you know, Its probably wise to get off the Protopic at least a

few days before each treatment, because Protopic and Intense Pulsed Light

Therapy are contra-indicated. With Photoderm, Its not uncommon for me to

start flushing unusually much a few weeks after treatment. The worst

example of this for me was after treatment #3. The nurse treating me told

me this is relatively common. She has no explanation for it, but she says

it happens, and it should go away by the end of treatments. People on this

board have often described Photoderm as a roller coaster ride. Sometimes

you see rapid almost too-good-to-be-true improvement.. and then you suddenly

have to start climbing the hills again when the flushing comes back for no

reason. With only three treatments left to go, I think (Although I can't

say for sure, after all this is just my uninformed opinion) that you should

probably finish with the rest of therapy, and wait six weeks after your

final treatment before making a verdict. The one thing I am looking forward

to, is I have heard, that after your final treatment, you will continue to

see improvement for up to 3 months after the treatment... and its really

only the last half of the treatments that really go after the flushing...

The first few are only for the superficial stuff... With treatment #5 you've

probably only gone after the deeper vessels once or twice, so it makes sense

that a large percentage of your flushing is still in tact. I'd give it a

chance. Although it does sound like your Photoderm doc is pretty unhelpful

:(
