Guest guest
Hi folks, As a newbie preparing to start my son on SCD, and in researching its background and Elaine's theories and such, I'm wondering if she ever offered her opinion of the potential thimerosal connection to autism, and how she felt about vaccines, and the impact of chelating toxic metals on the gut. I know she attended DAN conferences, and I wonder if she embraced the " DAN protocol " to any degree. Just curious, as my son did have infant vaccinations containing thimerosal. But he also had long-term exposure to a prophyllactic antibiotic shortly after his birth, so I've always been somewhat on the fence about what might've triggered his symptoms. She did not research autism prior but became interested once she joined the list and it became known for a time as " Elaine's Children. " This explains why some OT topics beyond the scope of the diet are discussed here. Elaine did have issues with some things about mainstream medicines. Elaine, bless he, was more interested in having DAN embrace SCD. Although it was SCD that healed Elaine's child, the diet was in wider use by adults for many years Carol F.
