With so many allowed foods why take chances? It is easy to make sauces and spice mixtures at home that will keep a long time. The store bought foods asked about and even phoned or written about to the companies, rarely turn out to be legal. and these are often things that are irrelvant to children but appealing to adults.The formulas get changed without any announcement. The endless combinations possible using SCD legal foods and some imagination will mean avoiding frequent repitition once improvement takes place and a wider menu is tolerated. We started the cooking classes to prove that SCD food using SCD ingredients is superior and not difficult. After six years on SCD and with the option to try other foods, my experience with the occasional restaurant meal hhas been very disappointing. Usually the flavor is second best to that of SCD foods. In the past several decades, there have been over 50,000 new food products introduced in super markets. Excluding the ones that are obviously not for us, can anyone conceive of the time and energy it would take to ascertain if the ingredients were fully disclosed? May I suggest that before asking if commercial foods might be legal, you explore the many ways to use those that are allowed? It's been 2190 days sunce I started SCD. I am constantly devising new ideas when I feel I need a change. I am not a professional cook, just a person who enjoys food. My philosophy is reverse. " Spice is the variety of life. " With over 500 free legal recipes on the Internet and many great CD cookbooks, why oh why must we have some sauce, seasoning mixture, beverage etc. that could set our child or ourselves back? Look how many kids were addicted to Mac and KFC etc. and are now doing so well on SCD. Need ecipes which may be useful for those slightly past SCD Intro Diet? These recipes contain cooked fruits, cooked veggies, herbs, meats, or eggs. A few recipes are included that have nut butter in them. Some of these recipes have dairy in them and it is indicated as such.
