Jackie, I'm fine! I missed you at clinic. I headed over there once I got

out of the hospital! I really wanted to meet you. Sorry we didn't get that

opportunity! :)

I'm hungry, and I'm still wanting food. I have no desire for soda at all,

which is amazing, but I do want food. I hope that this will pass, because I

don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to hold out! Juice, yogurt,

and broth have been my mainstay, and a few saltine crackers for the chew

aspect.

My family is having pizza for dinner. I cannot be with them while they eat

my favorite food, and so have escaped to the computer to keep my mind off

it. How long does this last? Am I the only one going through this?

Take care, Jackie. And drink your Carafate!

~Amy.

Amy, I am sorry that I missed you. Had I been alone I would have stopped

over but I had someone else with me. Sorry. How are you doing?

Hi Amy:

I know where you are coming from my family had pizza for lunch, my

sis brought it over, I had a smoothy. I don't know if this is okay

or not at this stage but I needed one. I am craving fresh fruit. My

husband brought home strawberries and bananas but nothing else I put

on my list that he brought home was satisfactory. When you can

hardly eat anything you get rather choosey. So I made a smoothy and

have felt satisfied. My sis did bring over 4 gallons of various

juices. By the time this is over I will be sick of juices. As for

the coca-cola I will tell you this, as I was pouring my daughter's I

stuck my tounge in the fizz and that was plenty for me. LOL I also

had a few saltines I just let them totally dissolve in my mouth

before I swallowed.

I didn't read all the mail from when I was away but I hear from Flo

you may have a support group meeting. Please send more info. Where

in Va do you live?

Take care,

Jackie in DE

right behind you. I normally dont carry water wait so I know the

scale wont be dancing like others.........Its very important that you

get enough rest also.

Try not to use the scale as a " weight-loss- cure-all " Your body will

be going into many differnt stages. I have experienced in my times of

diets it would be 2 weeks no weight loss then boom 6, 7 lbs. Also if

you are walking /exercising taking your proteins your body 's fat

will turn into muscle, inwhich weighs more than fat so the scale wont

budge, but the good thing is the muscle will help you loose faster,

and inches will pour off............

So tell me 3 weeks after day of surgery how much you lost, then we'll

go from there!

The VA (and MD, DC, DE, etc.) support group will be held on June 24 at my

house in Falls Church, VA (northern VA, near DC). Please let me know if you

would like to come, so I can get a rough head count. I'll send directions,

times, and details a little later.

Thanks!

Amy.
