Currently the only topical product I use is Noritate which I have been on

for about a year. I quit my minocycline cold turkey for a week along with

all my meds to see if any of them might be responsibile for a few of the

weird skin problems i have been having lately. After that I decided to take

100mgs per day of minocycline instead of 200mgs per day. I started to have

really weird flares. I tried increasing back to 200 for a day and the flare

seemed to be worse (maybe unrelated) so i just stopped taking it all

together, as tapering seemed to be making it worse? (although maybe the

flare was not anbitiotic related). Accutane is not a possibility at the

moment because I am in the middle of a series of photoderm treatments, and

the two can not be used at once.

I don't want to experience bad flares but am not quite sure what to do. I

am going into my doctor's today and going to get him to write me a

prescription for a sulfur/sulfasetimide-based product to help reduce papules

and stuff.

Does quitting the antibiotics cause a flare in papules? Or flushing? Or

both? (Mainly one or the other?)

How long after quitting the antibiotics can I expect the flares to be their

worst?

What I really wanna know the most is how long after stopping will the flares

happen for? If its just a week or two I can deal with that, I'm worried

about this going on for too long though!

Thanks for all the info, i really appreciate the help!

Adam
