Guest guest
Unless you have a rash, most likely the " bumps " you're referring to are papules. Pustules are papules that have broken thru the surface of your skin. Here is a site that I often refer to folks, it explains all kinds of acne and breakouts and their differences. They use real photos on the site to give examples of the type of lesion they're referring to: http://www.skincarephysicians.com/acnenet/ Spend a few minutes persuing the site or go straight to " Disease and Suffering " for (1) types of acne and (2) acne classification. This explains the bumps. There is also a dictionary that explains all teh terminology they use. Hope this helps, GT -- In rosacea-support@y..., " carrie i. Guest guest
Papules are small pinhead-sized red bumps while pustules are small red bumps with, as you'd suspect, puss. Per my Dr. Nase book, these both are results of leakage of inflammatory cells out of the blood vessels and into the skin. It then migrates towards the surface. When it migrates to the sebacous glands, pustules are the result. Per my Dr. Nase book, itching and burning are caused by the heat associated with increased blood flow from flushing and the leakage of the blood vessels of the face. .. > not quite sure what these are...and i see them > mentioned on this list alot? are they red, itchy > bumps? > > thanks for enlightening me, > > carrie > > __________________________________________________ >

Guest guest
Thanks, GT. I did a search on rosacea and found 9 articles. Many articles do not mention rosacea, but do cover things that we rosaceans do or need to know. The first article has a good picture. However, it does not list Photoderm or Laser as a treatment. Guess they are on to the all the latest treatments. Besides that, the articles are good to read. From the rosacea FAQ http://www.faqs.org/faqs/medicine/rosacea papule: a small, solid, elevated skin lesion, less than 0.5cm in diameter. pustule: a vesicle filled with cloudy fluid, such as pus, often associated with a hair follicle but can exist independently. cheers, davidp. -- Pascoe, dp@..., South Perth, Western Australia
