Guest guest
, Go for it with MAKE A WISH , it is the best organization around, my son had his wish granted a year ago last month, We waited until he was older so that he could really enjoy his wish and also remember it . And as I have read in other emails here, we also felt funny having a wish granted for him when we could do it for him and he wasnt " THAT " sick. Well I tell anyone that will listen on this site, if your child is eligible and they all are, you contact make a wish and let your child experience a wonderful day or week or whatever their dream is. My sons dream was to meet Will so we were picked up by a limo in Ohio and flown to Santa CA and we spent the day on the set of Men in Black 2 with Will and My son will never forget nor will we. Make a wish made all the arrangements and we never had to worry about anything. That is what make a wish is about, giving the families a little bit of time to relax and just live a little. We were so fortunate to have met one of the greatest celebrities but I would caution as I did caution my son before he decided on his wish, that if you are picking a person that you see in movies or on tv or sports that person may not be like what you see, so be prepared for a let down, We were overwhelmed by the generosity of Mr. and everyone that surrounded him. He is a class act. Make a Wish is a first class organization they really will try to do all they can to fulfill your childs biggest dream. We spent a week in CA and had a wonderful time. I hope that you encounter the same wonderful opportunity with them as we did. Best of luck to you. Making a wish About 6 weeks ago at a clinic visit the social worker came in to talk to us and said it was about time for Josh to think about making a wish. My heart almost stopped! I asked her should I be worried? I always thought this was something that happened for very sick children. She quickly reassured me that he was fine. The way the try to do it now is to give the child the wish while they are healthy enough to enjoy it. Josh is so excited! This past summer my husband and I had sent off for some cruise brochures. He is my second husband. We married when Josh was 9, even though he was around when Josh was diagnosed at 5. Any way, we had never had any alone time since when we married I already had 4 children. We even took them on our honeymoon. Not because we had to, but because we wanted to. Anyway, Josh was really getting into the cruise thing and I had to tell him, no way would we be able to do this for the whole family. As it was we were only looking at about 3 or 4 days. Well Josh now wants to cruise the Caribbean! I am so glad that they were able to offer him something that I could not. He just cant wait!! We had freinds that cruised to Alaska for their wish. Josh said that was too cold for him. Has anyone else done the wish thing. If so what did you do and how was it handled. I checked out the web site, but you cant ask any questions of the families. Come on guys, share with us.
