Hey there...

My name is Peg, I am mom to Brandan who is now 16, Brandan has been

suffering pretty much all his life with Pancreatitis, but was only

diagnosed in May of 2000 with Idopathic Chronic Pancreatitis. He had

been through the same tests you describe your daughter has been through. My

son had a total pancreatectomy with islet cell transfer in Aug of this

year. Brandan is now off all insulin and diabetes free we continue to

monitor his sugars daily. His pain medications have been on a steady

decrease also since coming home. His body has been through so very much

battling this disease also the very extensive surgery that he endured just a

little over a month ago. In time I believe he will live a much more normal

life free of diabetes and PAINcreatitis pain than he would of if we

continued on the road with this disease. We are now in what most doctors

consider UNCHARTED territory, but for us everyday with this disease

paincreatitis was also uncharted. I like you could not bear to see my

child suffer with this horrific illness any longer, and we knew what lied

ahead for him if he continued on the road he was traveling. I truly hate to

see anyone with this disease suffer especially the children and I know what

it is like to travel this road alone. Although it is a terrible reason why

we are all brought here together it truly is wonderful in its own way

knowning one is not alone. My email is Brwnbare9@..., I would be happy

to talk with you if you would like to email me.

To all my family here that if it wasnt for this group and its wonderful

members, I am not sure where we would be today, A BIG HUG....As always

keeping you and yours in our thoughts and prayers always...KEEP SMILING (cuz

sometimes its all one can do!)..TTFN...... : )
