Guest guest
Hi all, I attended my daughter's high school graduation last night. It was very nice. I just had one concern about a speaker. This was an intelligent, educated man. He telling the graduates .... when you were a child you spoke as a child and acted as a child but now more would be expected of them. As his example he used a child walking up to a fat man and asking when he was going to have a baby. And then said what you need to do is give him a can of SlimFast. Of course, the audience laughed, It made me uncomfortable. Another thing that bothered me was that this was a black man. I am glad that many of the old prejudices are gone but I do resent that obesity is still the subject of ridicule. Even though I will soon not have this problem as I am post-op I care about those who are suffering. Not just the ones on this list but also all those who have not found us yet and do not know that there is a solution. Oh well, time to get off the soap box. Flo, did you go to any yard sales today? Guest guest
And along the same lines, have you guys seen the promos for " Big Momma " ? It's a new movie coming out. I'm sure the movie will be FLOODED with fat jokes. Why is this OK? I love to laugh, and can appreciate the humor of being my size at times, but I wouldn't make a movie about it, and I don't think it's right. Blessings ~Amy. _____________________________________________ Amy S.
