Guest guest
Hi everyone! I figured since I was responsible for opening this " Pandor's Box " on Panc. cancer several days ago, I thought I'd better thank you all for your input and help. You all are a wealth of information and a true blessing to me! Finding you guys and knowing that I'm not alone has been a God send! If I may take a minute of your time I do have one more thing to add to this panc. cancer quandry. Now if my dumb blonde brain will allow me to remember correctly,(I'm even a dumber blonde since the sepsis and brain trauma from a yr ago!- God help us!) It was a few yrs ago while a pt. at IUMC in Indy (one of my many 1 month long stays) I had a lovely room-mate who had just been dx with Panc. cancer. She said that she had been treated for yrs with CP and that it wasn't until she had her " whipple " done that the Drs. had found the cancer in her panc. She said that the Drs told her that it was a difficult dx due to the fact that the panc. is " honeycombed " in appearence. It never even showed up on the Ct or MRI, she said. The Drs told her that was because the cancer was hidden in the honeycombs deep within the panc. and if it hadn't been for a biopsy after the whipple that they never would have found it. What are your thoughts on that?? And by the way- she was a smoker! Thanks for listening and all of your help! God's blessings to all of you! Cyndie :-) P.S. I've tried to send this message 3 times now and it never got posted- so... if there ends up being 3 of these, please forgive me! Blame it on Clairol!
