Guest guest
Hello everyone! I guess I spoke too soon last Saturday after an ER visit. I returned to the ER the next day and was admitted. Ironically enough, it WASN'T for CP! Here's a new jag- at least for me, I had an " Ileus " About a foot long section of my bowel became " paralyzed " ( paraltic ileus). The pain was phenominal as was the vomiting of fecal matter. YUK! I can honestly say that it was WORSE than an acute attack of panc.!It wasn't until the 6th day that they determined that I didn't need surgery and that the " ileus " relented on its own.( I would have loved to have had contact with all of you during this ugly time, but I greatly lack a support system. You're prayers would have been so-o-o appreciated! But until I returned home today and finally mustered up enough strenghth to come back to the 'puter, my dilemma was unknown. I'm so envious at times when I read of the wonderful support systems some of you are fortunate enough to have! BOO HOO for me, huh? Sorry bout that- just feeling a little DE-pressed and sorry for MOI.) I was told that this " ileus " isn't very common (of course!), but that the likelyhood of it returning on me is very great! I asked why and was told that because my gut is in constant turmoil and inflamation from the CP and that it just " happens " to some people. (And here I thought I wasn't lucky!)Vegas here I come! I asked if there was anything I could do to prevent it and I was told NO. So there you have it! Have any of you ever experienced this " ileus " thing? I lost about 11# this past week and still am quite shakey as I haven't found my sea-legs yet, but I'm HOME!! I hope and pray that you all had a better week than myself! You were always in my thoughts and prayers! May we ALL have a wonderfully calm and pain-free week ahead!!! And again- thanks for being there for me!
