Guest guest
Good Morning! Well another sleepless night! My Pain Dr increased my MS contin today to 120mg 3x a day with my MSIR for backup. I'm hoping it kicks in soon! Here's a good one- my friends and family tell me that I'm like a baby and need to get my days & nights turned back around. hahaha!( have any of you ever heard that one before?) They just don't get it! I'd LOVE to be able to sleep regular hrs like normal people, but my body & Mr. P won't let me! Give me a break!!!! At any rate, that's not why I'm writing tonight (or this morning I mean). I wanted to thank everyone for all of the great info given on panc. cancer. I kinda opened up " Pandora's Box " last week when I wrote about how my tactless Home Health Nurse told me that most people w/CP end up with Panc. Cancer. and all of your responses were terrific! I " d like to tell you an intersting story about a room-mate of mine a few yrs back (if my dumb blonde head will let me remember!)Ever since the sepsis, coma & brain trauma I've become an even dumber blonde, so bear with me please! I had a lovely lady as a room-mate when I was down at IUMC in Indy. We had both been there for about a month- me recovering from another ERCP & AP and her recovering from a whipple. The Drs discovered Panc. Cancer during the surgery. She had been treated for CP for many yrs up to that point. The Drs. told her the reason it wasn't dx earlier was because of the panc. " honeycomb " makeup. The cancer didn't even show up in the CT or MRI. The cancer was hidden deep in one of the honeycombs and was found via biopsy during the whipple. She asked the Drs. if they thought that she'd had the cancer all along instead of CP but they couldn't (or wouldn't) answer her. By the way- she was a smoker. Has anyone ever heard of this honeycomb thing before? I haven't, but I've never really read up on the panc.'s physical make-up before. Well, it's 3am again, and here I am on the 'puter. I hope everyone else is sleeping and having a pain-free night! God's Blessings to all of you! Cyndie:-)
