Cyndie,

It's been a good topic to research and I can understand

everyone's interest in learning more as this relates to us more

than others. Because it can go undetected since the symptoms

often mimic our regular CP symptoms, I don't understand why all

doctors don't routinely screen for it with new pancreatitis

patients. It seems simple enough to have the CA-19 test done,

or a CT-guided fine needle biopsy of the pancreatic tissue.

In my case, the fine needle aspiration biopsy was done during

my second diagnostic CT-scan and the tissue collected was

benign. It was a great relief to me to learn that I was " 99% " free

and clear.

Since pancreatic cancer is ranked 5th in the cancer line-up, and

the records show that there is such a brief time before diagnosis

and death (about 3 months, from what I've read), it would

behoove us all to be checked.

Thank you for bringing this subject up for us to look into.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi
