Hey Louie,

I don't mean to butt into your conversation with Jenise here, but I

wanted to say something. sorry..........First of all, now don't get

mad at me, ok? I was thinking you was " Louie-a-guy! " For some

stupid reason.....I'm so sorry! Is Louie short for Louise? My

middle name is Louise....so I have 3 " L " . Louise Lawson.

Cool, huh? Now, back to the more serious stuff. What doc did you

see at OSU? I had Dr. Fromkes & he is to blame for my pancreatitis!

After he did his ERCP [shiver, shiver] I didn't leave the hospital for

6 weeks. Six Weeks! It was winter when I went in & spring when I

came home. Then I was back and forth...home 5 days, back in 2 weeks,

home 7 days, back in for 10 days, home for 9 days, back in for 7

days. Then I was there at least once a month for 2 years. And I was

having nerve blocks done, and I had terrible results. Alot of pain

shooting through my back. After each nerve block I ended up in the

hospital in excruciating sp? pain! I was having the blocks done here

in Springfield. And then the doc who was doing the blocks sent me to

see Doc Lehman in Aug. 95.

I was shipped to Indy, again, by ambulance, Jan/2001 from our fine

lil' hospital here in Springfield. I was going to be there for 2

weeks, but my father-in-law passed away & I had to come home. I did

have an Endoscope nerve block done, and it helped, so I thought.

Come to find out, I was on the morphine pain pump, and since I had 3

weeks of relief Doc Lehman sent me to Dr. to have the nerve

cut, like you were talking about. He told me I only had a 20% chance

of it helping, because I never had much luck with nerve blocks. When

I told him about the endo-block, he told me he didn't think it was

the block that helped, it was starting on morphine at that time. So,

I politely thanked the fine gentleman & turned down the offer of the

surgery. That wasn't good enough odds for me to go through with him

going in through my back, collapsing my lung, then cutting the

nerve. No Thanks! I had a groshong port get infected 2 years ago, I

had 2 blood infections, pneumonia, pancreas flair-up & a pouch of

fluid outside my right lung. They had to put a chest tube in the

middle of my back to drain the fluid. And since I had pneumonia so

bad, the bottom of my right lung is collapsed. (its called atelectis -

bad spelling sorry) And thats the lung he was going to completly

collapse. No Thanks!

Oops, sorry, didn't mean this to run into a chapter book! I'll talk

to you again soon. Thanks alot!

Lots of Hugs,

> Jenise,

> Great news that you found a good doc at CC. I don't go back up to

see Dr. Conwell. Since I first got to have a never block and then

have then try surgically cut the nerves cut in my back. I had the

nerve block done at CC once before and Twice at OSU and they never

worked on me before, so I not going to try it again. My docs at OSU

said that cutting the nerves wouldn't help since the nerve blocks

didn't work either, so I have decided not to go through the painful

nerve block again. This just remind me that I have to get a letter

from him stating that they don't do total pancreactectomy, so I'll

have it for my insurance. If I don't get back to you before

Wednesday good luck with you ERCP.
