Oh Amy,

You make me laugh!!!!!!!! Did you know that when Trish pushed me up the

steps at Bob's and I fell on my bad knees that it actually fixed them. I

didn't want to tell her that because I thought she might send me a

bill!!!!!..ha..ha.

I'm three weeks post-op yesterday......I'm down 20 lbs and 20 1/2

inches. Of course I measured everything from my upper arms down to my ankles!!!!

It's fun to sit back and watch your fat disappear. I haven't had any pain and my

foods go down real well. No problem with dumping or anything even resembling

dumping. My favorite main-stay is still watermelon with salt. I have a bit of

discomfort swallowing water. I find drinking " thicker "

drinks help get the meds down. I have been mixing the cans of Carnation Instant

Breakfast

50/50 with skim milk and they go down really good and they're not too sweet.

Last night we went to my favorite barbeque restaurant and I ate two pork

ribs (very lean) and a couple of bites of cole slaw, potatoe salad and pinto

beans. They tasted the same as before surgery but a little bit was really all I

wanted. I have tried a wide variety of foods but I stay away from fast foods. I

never liked them before my MGB and I have no desire to eat them now. Food is not

a big deal anymore. I still go out to eat with family and friends and I am

learning not to order much for myself because it will be wasted. I love to eat

salad and surprisingly enough it really goes down well. I thought it would hurt

but it doesn't. I don't " mourn " food because I can still eat what I want. I just

eat a lot less and I " want " healthier food. My family is still pampering me and

they always let me pick the restaurant. I guess that is a good side

effect....ha...ha.

I'm grateful for my chance at a " new " life and I thank God for Dr.R

everyday.

Love,

Genz
