I had a groshong catheter and it was put in in a small surgery procedure and

that is about all I know. The nurses told me it was really close , if not

next to the heart and I could keep it in for a long , long time, if I had to

It is a bigger line and so they could put the TPN in it, which is food. I

had one and got infection in it and had to have it out and a new one put in.

I think the infection was my own fault , as I was home on " home health " but

got the end of the line in the bath water.
