Hi Everyone,

I haven't been around for quite some time, I hope everyone is doing

as well as they can. I just needed to get away from the board; I

think it's been an essential part of me getting back to my normal

self and not wallowing in illness. Everyone here has always been a

tremendous help to me and I will be " visiting " again and thinking

about you all.

I'm doing great. Well as great as someone with half a pancreas can

be. I'm kicking myself even more for not doing the total

pacreatectomy and islet cell transplant. My amalyse and lipase have

slowly tapered off since June and are nearly undetectable now. So I

am dependant on Viokase once again. My insulin is still doing great

though, I've had a few bouts of extreme hypoglycemia, but I can feel

it coming on now and get some food in me as soon as posible.

I've basically been my own physician lately. I'm under the care of a

second year family practice resident now. I basically tell her what I

need and she writes me scrips or signs lab orders. I've almost given

up on finding a good doctor, but there is a glimmer of hope: the GI

practice I go to here has brought on a new doctor who trained with

the physician I had seen in Milwaukee and his areas of intrest are

the pancreas and liver. So maybe???

Anyway I just wanted to visit for a little bit. Again I hope

everyone is doing well.

Angel
