Guest guest
Regarding my previous post on the algorithm, add the following Zithromax 250 tablets should be taken with a high fat meal to increase absorption no Mg or Al containing products within +/- 4h of zithromax for all you posters into strenght training by recent posts, this includes protein bars and shakes such as metrx, pure protein, whey protein and any supplements with these minerals -- all not to be takin within the 4 h verbotten window no acidophilus within +/- 4h of zithromax you must take acidohphilus at least once a day, or more depending gi intolerence due to commensal gut flora destruction prevention the Accutane may or may not be taken with the zithromax depending on you individual preference or theory but the accutane must be taken with a high fat meal Re: Zinc Oxide, sunscreen formulations, and dimethicone. Physical sunscreens can be occlusive in high concentrations. Factors promoting comedogensis are vehicle characteristics and particle size, and concentrations above 10%. Dimethicone is getting more wildly known as acnegenic, if not comedogenic, and if you don't have rabbit ear for your skin, anything can be comedogenic to you. That is why at the proper step of my algorigthm, you start spot testing topicals to develop an arsenal of topicals that you can use when the time comes. Topicals to consider testing at this point are: Sys Zinc O product Vanicream spf 15 sunblock The clinique city block noritate metrogel klaron differin gel some formulation of benzoyl peroxide -- not brevoxyl, maybe benzac w, maybe benzaclin, or benzamycin also no sulfur containing (the element, not the sulfonamide class of antibiotics) products are to be tested the ideal topical, if you can tolerate it, would of course be differin gel because at this point of the algorithm all comedones would be expressed and the differin gel would be both anti- inflammatory and comedolytic w/o the initial flare. ceans, especially, should avoid the nose and nasolabial folds with differin. Guest guest
Hi 007, Dr. Sy's ZincO Cream has lots of dimethicone in it. So, if you do get bumps from dimethicone it might not be one to try. As well, Vanicream spf 15 has dimethicone and its derivatives. Here are their ingredients: Vanicream® Sunscreen SPF 15 active ingredients: zinc oxide (Z-Cote® HP1), titanium dioxide (T-Cote 031®) cetyl dimethicone copolyol, cyclomethicone, dimethiconal, dimethicone, dl-alpha tocopherol (vitamin E), glycerin, hydrogenated castor oil, magnesium chloride, PEG-30 dipolyhydroxystearate, polyethylene, purified water, tridecyl neopentanoate Hope that helps, Matija > Topicals to consider testing at this point are: > > Sys Zinc O product > Vanicream spf 15 sunblock > The clinique city block > noritate > metrogel > klaron > differin gel > some formulation of benzoyl peroxide -- not brevoxyl, maybe benzac w, > maybe benzaclin, or benzamycin > also no sulfur containing (the element, not the sulfonamide class of > antibiotics) products are to be tested > > > the ideal topical, if you can tolerate it, would of course be > differin gel because at this point of the algorithm all comedones > would be expressed and the differin gel would be both anti- > inflammatory and comedolytic w/o the initial flare. ceans, > especially, should avoid the nose and nasolabial folds with differin. Guest guest
You could buy your own zinc oxide at http://www.libertynatural.com/index.html. However, it's not micronized so you'd get a white cast with it. Also, I think that some diaper rash creams have zinc oxide but no dimethicone. Your face has to not react to petrolatum or mineral oil as those ingredients figure prominently in them. I'll keep my eyes out for sunblock that doesn't have dimethicone in it. I didn't realize that some people get bumps from it. Take care, Matija > > Hi 007, > > > > Dr. Sy's ZincO Cream has lots of dimethicone in it. Guest guest
FYI, I know it's last on the ingredient list, but tridecyl neopentanoate is somewhat of an irritant that might effect you. YMMV. Guest guest
Yes, good idea. Actually, I happen to have a few sample containers of zcote (both hp1 - dimethicone coated, and non coated) and nanox (smaller particle size that zcote, uncoated) zinc oxide lying (or is it laying) around here, and I am ready to mix them into something non comedogenic, if I can find a good vehicle... Any suggestions. First, no mineral oil, no dimethicone (other than that which is bound to the zcote hp1. I'm thinking mainly glycerin and/or water, and maybe some petrolatum. Also, I want to keep the concentration w/w under 10% to reduce comedogenicity of the zinco. For now, I am just religously avoiding the sun and walking fast from my car to buildings, and trying to do things at night. No hat because it breaks out my forehead and temples... Actually, there are a lot more interesting things to do at night vs. daytime. > > > Hi 007, > > > > > > Dr. Sy's ZincO Cream has lots of dimethicone in it.
