I sent mine in and then got my GYN to e-mail my results to his office. Also be sure to make a copy of everything and take it with you when you go to Durham. The morning of my surgery they had my insurance info wrong and I had a copy of my approval letter with me and that saved a lot of time. > I got my hard copy less than a week after I sent in my PI form I started calling the next day and they had not received the approval request from Dr. R. I faxed them a copy and then called everyday. Don't assume anything!! Get names of everyone you talk to so you can get back in touch with that person. Hope this helps Good Luck!!! Guest guest
Hi , It took about two weeks for Dr. R's office to mail the letter to my insurance company from the time I filled out my patient info form online. I know it has taken much less time for some people, and a little more for some people. Dr. R's office will mail you a copy of the letter when they send it to the insurance company. But you should start calling your insurance company any time to see if they have gotten it, and especially call and check on it as soon as you get your copy. My insurance company was sent Dr. R's letter 3 times (twice by fax, and once by mail). They finally found one of the faxes, and later another copy showed up, but insurance companies " claim " they haven't gotten it. Several people on this list have had to send the letter repeatedly before they admit they have it. So keep on them! I think you have to send the Pap results in with the packet, but you could call Dr. R's office and ask Barbara or Debbie if you could just include a note. Have you thought about just going to a health clinic or one of those walk in clinics to get a Pap done quicker? You might call around and see if you could get one done sooner, if you feel comfortable doing that. Because I know it takes several days at least to get the results back from a Pap. Good luck to you!
