Guest guest
" Elaine loved to give forth on this subject in her most annoyed voice. And I have lived it, thinking I couldn't tolerate one thing or another eg: eggs, nuts, grape juice, yogurt only to discover the reactions varied from time to time and were totally inconsistent except with foods that are cross reactive with latex allergy and some day I will cautiously test them again. " Carol, I am interested in this because this is the problem I am facing with my son. It seems that sometimes he does have a reaction to eggs and bananas and it seems apparent but I wonder if it is in fact something else or a category of foods (like Phenols). Every time he has the above, he does seem more aggressive and emotional but will also have aggressive and emotional days when he hasn't had eggs or bananas. ........... For anyone who wonders about an elimination diet this describes it: (The rest of the site is not totally relevant to SCD: http://www.urologychannel.com/prostate/bph/eliminationdiet.html " Determining which foods one is sensitive to can be a challenge. One of the most effective ways of finding out which foods cause problems is by eliminating the most common food sensitivities from the diet and then reintroducing foods one at a time to see how the body reacts. A negative reaction means that the person is sensitive to that food and should remove it from their diet. This process is called an elimination and challenge diet: the food is eliminated from the diet then reintroduced to challenge the body. It is also referred to as a hypoallergenic diet. Licensed naturopathic physicians are trained to monitor elimination and challenge diets and can provide guidance during the process. " My own words:: The trouble with elimination diets is that the immune system can preceive danger where it doesn't exist and drive you nuts playing hopscotch with your suspected " allergies.
