Did he test your hormone levels before prescribing progesterone only? Perhaps you are not low in progesterone to begin with. Also, I have read in several books (written by doctor's) that rosacea often starts or worsens at peri/menopause due to declining estrogen levels. So I guess I would seriously question this guy's statement's. > Ok well I had pizza last night with garlic dough balls (major trigger) but > today I am unbelievably swollen. I cannot eat either without a big reaction (redness, bumps....i have not ever had as severe as you describe though.) It sounds like you already have discovered the carbohydrate/flare connection but for whatever it's worth, even when my diet has been low-sugar, low-carb eating pizza would create a problem. (there are some things I can eat that I seem to be able to " get away with " for a time....) > I have been taking ot only for three days and the redness and swelling has > been pretty extreme. I wonder if I should keep taking it. I know my doctor > will say I haven't given it time to settle down in my system - has anyone else > found that this pill has worsened their rosacea? If it were me I would stop the pills regardless of what the doctor says...extreme redness, dryness and swelling as a result of a medication is way to high a price to pay. And I also don't think it sounds " right " that it is your system getting used to it. Or even if it is " right " , I would personally still stop the pills because extreme inflammation, etc. is damaging to the skin and the longer it goes on, the longer you will take to heal.
