Guest guest
Cindy, in my experience the oil effect is not immediate. The oils usually take 6-8 weeks to work, and even more time for the full effect to stop. Flax oil and other Omega 3's can have an impact on blood clotting factors, which is why they don't want you to take them before surgery. Are you doing your scrubs and soaks? That makes so much difference! Kate

Guest guest
I have a feeling when I call the doctor they will just tell me to stop taking the flax just to be on the safe side. I suppose I should stop for now. It's just that nothing seems to work as well as the flax. I ended up taking two of them lastnight and now this morning my face doesn't itch as much already. It was even starting to peal a little bit. For me the flax works in about 5 days it seems. So that's why it took about that long to start up with the itching and red eye again. I also can't have it for two weeks after the surgery. That'll be tough I hope I can handle my job with my eye and the fact I stare at a computer screen all day. I'll try eating more fish and things like that they didn't say anything about limiting my diet. Cindy

Guest guest
Cindy, Would it help if you tried a lot of fatty fish in your diet - such as salmon, or cod liver; then I think you would get the same effect from natural sources. I am not sure if I am pointing in the correct direction, but that's what crossed my mind when I read your post. Good luck with your surgery! Guest guest
To me, flax oil is a food. It would be like not eating olive oil, or any other oil. So, If it were me I would keep taking it - maybe just half the dose just in case...
