Basil May Help Fight Cystic Fibrosis

There may be a new drug that fights cystic fibrosis. Colorado State

University researchers have confirmed that sweet basil is being touted

as the new wonder drug. Horticulture professor Vivanco says sweet

basil contains an rosmarinic acid that kills germs that attack cystic

fibrosis patients. Vivanco also says extract in the spice kills off

bacteria in many plant diseases, and it may replace some traditional

farm chemicals.
