Guest guest
, the negative sweat test (given that the test was performed correctly and the result is doubtless) has lessened the chance that he has CF by more than 90%. Less than 10% of the pwcf have normal sweat scores. That means that the negative sweat test CAN'T RULE OUT CF. So there is still a chance (or should I better say risk) that he has CF. Another disease that causes big airway problems is PCD (primary ciliary dyskinesia). More about it you'll find here: http://www.med.unc.edu/wrkunits/3ctrpgm/cystfib/PCD.htm And on that site there is a link to the personal site of Dr. Knowles, together with his email-adress http://www.med.unc.edu/wrkunits/3ctrpgm/cystfib/Staff/knowles.htm Maybe you or your docs can get more help from there. Peace Torsten > ok i know that i said the test was negitve the test they did was the > sweat test and not a dna one do you all think they we should go > further with this the reason i ask is that he gags alot and turns > really pale when he does this and it seems to be a thick mucas(sp) > like substance or is there something else that you guys can think it > would be ?
