>>>I have managed my own chronic pancreatitis for last 7 years and picked

up one or things over that time!<<<

7 Years is a long time to manage this health problem. Sorry that you have

to.

>>>The panc is activated everytime anything goes in the mouth ... 3 litres

of fluid a day ... water or soups. Avoid coffee or tea ... sugary drinks

.... FAT ... hot spice stuff ... don't move around round much. Rest, or

sit at the computer...<<<

Have been resting all day every day, have avoided tea, coffee, spices, any

drinks besides water...even when not having pancreas problems.

xxxxxxx

>>>... the panc organises the blood sugars and " brittle diabetes " is a

serious side effect of pancreatitis. Stabilising the blood sugars is a

problem in the treatment...<<<

I have never had higher than 100. I have just had a 54 last week at the

ER and that was a first. It was after 2 days of not eating anything but

water, so that is the extent of my knowledge of what is going on with me

with the sugar. I am going to have to talk to the doc about it and figure

it out better.

xxxxxxx

>>>...watch the Tomatoes,... problems with acids ... attacking the

pancreas... Heat will help panc pain ... hot water bottle or wheat

or rice bag heated ... to the left abdomen ... Of course medication

.... if it gets bad enuff, don't hesitate...<<<

I will watch the tomatos and acids. I have rice bags..and use them.

My pain has been manageable.

>>>...The vitamins ... should be fine. If ... in fat it should be

reasonably benign ... the same with the oil. Alcohol is the real enemy

and cough mixtures are some of the most dangerous ones to watch! A

pharmacist is a good one to consult also ...the Dabetes Dietcians ...<<<

Never touch alcohol or meds with it in it. Yes, I should call a

pharmacist and ask questions...good idea. I will look up the Diabetes

Dieticians.

Thanks.

>>>I am going into hospital in 9 hours anyway for a nerve block for pain

so it could be a coupla days b4 I get home again!... I wrote a paper on

Triggers you might find interesting at:

http://www.angelfire.com/md3/pancreatitis/issuesdocs/triggers.html Marmite<<<

Sorry to hear you are having to go into the hospital for a procedure. I

hope it goes well and helps with your pain. :-) I already went to your

website and read the triggers and am glad to have that to keep in mind.

:-)

Thanks very much for your detailed response. I appreciate you taking the

time while your struggling with your own stuff...
